AT LAST!
We finally started the 1st student
exchange of the English Department. After many weeks of waiting for our
guests, we were able to host them for one week. It has been a great
experience which has not finished yet. Next month we'll set off for
Apeldoorn to meet with our hosts and continue with the 2nd part of the
exchange.
We are looking forward to seeing them again!
We are really grateful for being congratulated by the school board.

On our last day together, Elga (1r BATX A) made an excellent speech in the main hall of the town council (sala de plens):
"Hi everybody,
I just wanted to say a few
words about this wonderful exchange, forgive me if I extend this too
much but, the thing is that it's been such a great experience during the
whole week, meeting each one of you it's been a pleasure such as
sharing our life routine and traditions too.
Personally,
I think that we've connected to our partners in different ways, of
course at the very beginning we've had our embarassing silent moments in
which we didn't know what to say or to talk about, but we ended up
getting more confident with each other as the days went by and we became
acquinted, and we've learned a lot about each other.
I
believe that we'll preserve each other and we'll keep in touch because
most of us have made up a really good friendship. In any case, if you
decide to visit us again you'll have a place where to stay and another
friend to rely on.
To finish with, I want to
say thanks to all of you and all of the teachers to make this happen, we
hope that you've made the most of this experience and we're looking
forward to seeing you in a few weeks.
We hope that your stay has been pleasant. It's been a pleasure for us. "
Thank you Elga for your rewarding words. You have made us feel proud of having pupils like you and we are glad to see that all the effort involved in the exchange has been worthwhile.

On the other hand, in our school there's a great team of artists: the arts teachers.
We want to thank Rosa Ferrer (Visual Arts Department) for collaborating in our project and for creating a logo design for our first student exchange. We are really grateful and we appreciate her collaboration. Besides, we think the new design is outstanding!

Carnestoltes is the yearly 'carnival' that takes place in Catalunya just

such as Brazil, people dress up in fancy dress, wear elaborate masks,
dance, eat, hold processions and generally have a good time.

LOGO CONTEST WINNER
We haven't got a winner yet. The deadline has been put off a few more days.
Come on and send us your design. We won't say a verdict until March, after the bank holiday in Sant Cugat.
Chrystelij students might not know that 3rd March is a holiday in Sant Cugat: "Sant Medir", the saint patron.
The origins of this holiday is told in this legend:

Chrystelij students might not know that 3rd March is a holiday in Sant Cugat: "Sant Medir", the saint patron.
The origins of this holiday is told in this legend:
The good peasant Medir
lived around 303, during the Roman rule of Diocletian, who led a brutal
persecution of Christians. One of them, Bishop Sever, decided to escape
to Barcelona as he was in danger and constantly persecuted by the
Romans; so he undertook a pilgrimage to Sant Cugat, where he found the
peasant Medir, who was planting beans.
The Bishop told Medir the reason
for his escape and, determined to die for the faith to Jesus Christ,
he said that if someone asked for him, he had to tell the truth. After the bishop had left, the beans began to grow and flourish in a miraculous way.
Soon after, the Roman persecutors saw
the peasant Medir and they asked him for the Bishop. The peasant told
them he had just seen the bishop while he was planting the beans. The Romans did not believe his story when they saw the grown beans and, feeling cheated,
they caught Medir. Once they had captured the bishop as well, they were both imprisoned and martyred to death.
WE'VE GOT THE MATCHES ! COMING SOON...
