LOGO DESIGN CONTEST

Calling all students in 1r de Batxillerat at Ins Angeleta Ferrer i Sensat!

The English Department is looking for a visual identity for the Student Exchange we are organizing and needs your help. We are seeking current INS Angeleta Ferrer i Sensat students in “1r BATX” who can design a creative, innovative and professional logo design. The logo should be recognizable and help promote our exchange. The rest is up to you!  Please read below for more details regarding logo design, contest rules & submission requirements.

How to Enter the Contest

The contest begins on December 10, 2013. Submissions will be accepted through January 19, 2014. Winners will be announced in via our blog, Facebook page and by direct contact to the winners' email account. In order for your entry to be submitted and reviewed by our judges, all entries must be:

• Submitted directly to English Department, englishdptaf@gmail.com
• Submitted in its original source file and
• Submitted as .jpg or similar.
• In the e-mail contestants must include: full name, grade level and class, date of birth, e-mail address and phone number.

Logo Requirements

Professional: This logo may be featured on our blog, our social media page and other media (documents, letters, stationary, pamphlets, t-shirts etc). As a result, while we want the logo to be eye-catching, it must still be legible at a small format.

The logo must have two shapes: square and rectangular shapes (like a banner)

Theme: Logo must promote our 1^st student exchange with Chistelijk Lyceum in Apeldoorn.
Colour: There are no limitations and any colours may be used. However, logo must look good in colour (if any) or black and white.
Integrity: Logos cannot contain copyrighted material. Logos must have been created and edited by the contestant(s). Logos may not include images or licensed images that have been previously published. Must be easily reproducible and scalable for large and small formatting.

Contest Details

Winner(s) will be selected by the English Department Staff in conjunction with the Arts Department. Contestants agree that INS Angeleta Ferrer English Department may publish their logo and name(s) and may use both for advertising campaigns and/or marketing materials in the future. Contestants assign all ownership rights, including all intellectual property rights to the logo, to INS Angeleta Ferrer English Department.  Additionally, the English Department may alter, modify or revise the logo as it sees necessary to achieve the goals of the centre. The English Department reserves the right to not select a winner if, in its sole discretion, no suitable entries are received.  

Prize

Contest winner will receive a pack of English books.

The verdict of the jury will be posted on 24^th January 2014 on these sites:

Consolidation: A visit from the Netherlands

Com ja sabeu pels vostres fills i filles, el projecte d’intercanvi amb Holanda tindrà lloc durant aquest curs escolar. La primera part de l ’intercanvi  serà la visita dels holandesos a Sant Cugat del  12 al 16 de maig de 2014. La segona part  tindrà lloc a Apeldoorn (Holanda) del  14 al 20 de juny  de 2014.

Ara estem en la fase inicial del projecte en la qual hem d’establir les parelles d’intercanvi per tenir un coneixement previ del futur corresponsal. Tots els alumnes implicats en l’ intercanvi han d’omplir un formulari personal a fi de trobar el corresponsal amb més afinitats.

També hem tingut la visita a Sant Cugat dels professors holandesos i hem acordat les activitats que tindran lloc durant les dues visites.

"Come along!" the starting point

Benvolgudes famílies:

Ens posem en contacte amb vosaltres per a informar-vos del projecte Come along! que estem organitzant per  dur a terme durant aquest curs. Es tracta d’un intercanvi escolar amb un institut d’Holanda i que va adreçat a l’alumnat de 1r de BATX que va formar part del projecte PELE (Pla experimental per a l’ aprenentatge de llengües estrangeres) durant els últims tres cursos d’ ESO (2n, 3r i 4t). No descartem ampliar la selecció amb nous alumnes si s’escau.

Després de comprovar la dificultat que comporta trobar un centre a les Illes Britàniques disposat a establir un intercanvi, hem optat per ampliar la nostra busca a altres països europeus.  Ha estat un Lyceum d’una població holandesa (a 80 km d’Amsterdam) qui ha contactat amb nosaltres per a establir un intercanvi.

El projecte Come along! consisteix en un estudi comparatiu entre l’estil de vida dels adolescents del nostre centre i el d’altres adolescents d’un altre país, essent l’anglès la llengua vehicular. L’objectiu de l’ intercanvi és practicar la llengua anglesa i conèixer aspectes de  la societat holandesa fent una immersió en un poble d’un entorn rural.

Per a iniciar tots els tràmits necessaris, hem de saber quantes famílies estaríeu disposades a allotjar un estudiant i quines famílies esteu interessades en què els vostres fills i filles participin  en el viatge a Holanda. Els holandesos vindrien al maig i nosaltres els visitaríem al juny un cop acabats els exàmens.

Els criteris de selecció que anem a aplicar seran, bàsicament, haver format part del projecte PELE, les notes d’anglès, l’actitud general a l’ institut i la bona disposició a col·laborar en les tasques del projecte. (...)
